EnerNex, a provider of electric power research, engineering and consulting services, has named Joseph Bucciero director of consulting services for the company's smart grid engineering team.
Bucciero, senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and member emeritus of the U.S. Department of Energy's GridWise Architecture Council, joins the firm with over 40 years of experience in management, business and technical experience in serving the utility industry.
In his new role, Bucciero will provide expertise and support for a variety of EnerNex initiatives to create new business opportunities and extend the company's presence throughout the industry. He will also support and lead new projects in the areas of cybersecurity, distribution management for the smart grid, utility modernization and project implementation.
Most recently, Bucciero was founder and president of Bucciero Consulting LLC. He launched his practice to utilities, vendors and industry groups to provide strategic guidance on the smart grid, interoperability and cybersecurity.
For the last three years, Bucciero has been involved with the North American Electric Reliability Corp.'s development of cybersecurity reliability standards. He has also worked with utilities to help them prepare for compliance with those standards.
