With the addition of a new form factor to support the efficient replacement of legacy American National Standards Institute (ANSI) microprocessor protection relays, ABB has announced the completion of the ANSI Relion 650 series portfolio. The portfolio is designed to help utility personnel benefit from a range of products for power systems protection, control, measurement and supervision, according to the company.

"The 3U form factor simplifies lifecycle management and provides utilities the opportunity for stepwise migration to advanced functionality and improved performance," says Steven Kunsman, vice president and general manager for ABB's substation automation products business in North America.
